This Month's Featured Artist is Esther Missel
Esther Missel is a graduate of
Bay Path College in Longmeadow, Massachusetts. She attended the Wadsworth
Athenaeum School of Art in Hartford, Connecticut, and studied fine arts at
Columbia University in New York.
She paints primarily in oil, acrylics, and watercolors. Her subjects include rural landscapes, tall ships, flowers, portraits, historical sites, and commissioned homes.
She has received numerous awards. Her work is in private and public collections in the United States and abroad.
Esther Missel has exhibited in the Philadelphia Museum of Art gallery, the Newman Gallery in Philadelphia, the Mystic Seaport Museum in Mystic, Connecticut, galleries in Annapolis, Maryland, Newport, Rhode Island, and the rotunda of the House Office Building in Washington, D.C.
She is a member of the American Artist's Professional League, Inc., the National League of American Pen Women, and is listed in Who's Who of American Women and Who's Who in America. She is a U.S. Coast Guard artist, a member of the International Society of Marine Artists and a charter member of the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C. Her work has been published in the book Yacht Portraits published by Sheridan House, NY.
